Being a car enthusiast and growing up around American Muscle my whole life, I feel like sometimes gasoline runs thru my veins. It’s gotten to the point where I get excited when my neighbor fires up his weed whacker. It seems like the majority of car guys are just that… ‘guys’. I recently attended the All Mustang Roundup in Bellevue, Washington. I got there early in anticipation for a great day of chatting with fellow motorheads. Of course it had to rain the entire day, but that did little to dampen my spirits. The first couple hours went without a hitch, and I started getting comfortable. All the sudden, in a sea full of blue, black and red mustangs, a curly blonde girl parks her bright pink mustang in the lot. Talk about a shock!

This car... and dog stick out!

The rest of the day people weren’t talking about how fast or how expensive their Detriot muscle has cost them. Conversation about the pink mustang took precedent. At the end of the day, she ended up driving away without an award at the car show. That said, she left us all with a lasting impression.

I’ve been to a few of these Mustang Roundups and most shows seem to follow a common theme. I’m sure the pink mustang that showed up at the ‘guys’ car show will be talked about for years to come. Take a look at ¬†your retail business and see if you can distinguish yourself as the outcast that everyone can’t stop talking about.
