When you go to post an image on your next blog post or piece of content, check out these two tools before you risk a Google Image search that could lead you to pictures with watermarks, strict usage rights, or….well, nevermind.

  1. Flickr Creative Commons Search: Flickr has a search tool with built in license filtering tools so you can decide on what kind of license you need for your planned image use and search accordingly. There are literally millions of images to look through on Flickr and the search is easy to use!
  2. Iconfinder: Iconfinder is a great search engine if you’re looking for icon type pictures to use on your site, in posts, or in email newsletters, or other copy. Filter by license type and look at entire collections of different types of icons that all match.
