It takes a lot of time to build a customer base for any retail business. Do a great job with the first transaction and you create a repeat customer. They are your bread and butter. Someone that likes your business is certainly going to spread the word to others. There is no review I trust more than one from a friend. If they are willing to put their credibility on the line and tell me your business offers great service, no doubt I’m going to try it.
Focus on these strategies for your retail business and turn every customer into a repeat customer.
A great example of consistency on a grander scale is Starbucks. I was recently in Thailand, and my Americano tasted the exact same as it does at my local Starbucks. That consistency makes paying a premium for their coffee obsolete. Create a consistent, enjoyable experience for your customers and they will want to come back for more.
2. Who is your customer?
At Salty Waffle, one of our favorite exercises is creating your perfect customer. Once you know what they look like, car they drive, all the way down to if they are a Mac or PC. Creating this list will make it a lot easier to create the perfect atmosphere for repeat business. If you want to participate in this exercise check out our social media classes.
3. Stay in contact
The beautiful thing about social media is how little work it takes to keep in contact with people. Sending an email with new products is a simple promotion that works. If you can somehow personalize the message, you’ll find these contacts will spur even more repeat business.
